9th Annual short course on: Strengthening Contemporary School Health, Nutrition and HIV Prevention Programmes

10-20 June 2013, Elmina, Ghana This interactive and participatory short course aims to strengthen the capacity of the health and education sectors to respond effectively to the needs of school-age populations at the country level. The course offers:

• Up-to-date and comprehensive introduction to concepts and good practices in improving the health, nutrition and education of schoolchildren.
• Expert facilitation by current practitioners with recognized international and regional knowledge in school health and nutrition (SHN).
• Visits to schools and communities to see the FRESH Framework in action.
• Exceptional opportunity for information exchange, debate and continued learning among those engaged in SHN programme policy and implementation.

The principal objective of the course is to develop country-specific response plans reflecting all aspects of the FRESH Framework. Follow up technical support is provided to participating countries to enable these plans to be successfully implemented.
